Trustee Position Open – 2027 Election

The Byron Fire Protection District will have one position available for the upcoming consolidated election on April 6, 2027, it carries a 6-year term.  The board is made up of five trustees who help oversee the operations of the district.

Petition packets will be available beginning Aug. 25, 2026. Individuals interested in becoming a candidate may begin circulating petitions on or after that date. The petition forms can be obtained online through the Ogle County website at www.oglecounty.org, Departments, County Clerk, Elections, (located on the left side of the page) Petition Packets. Packets can also be picked up in person at the Byron Fire Protection District, located at 123 N Franklin Street, Byron, IL.

Completed candidate petitions must be filed the week of Nov. 16-23, 2026, between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, in the office of Michele Trzcinski Ramos, local election official, at the Byron Fire Protection District.

On the final day of filing, the office will remain open until 5 p.m.
