Officials

The Byron Fire Protection District is governed by a five member Board of Trustees; each is elected by the residents of the District for a six (6) year term of office.

The members of the Board of Fire Commissioners are appointed by the Trustees. Responsibilities of the Commission include the hiring, promoting and discipline of sworn employees.

It is the mission of the Board of Trustees and the members of the Byron Fire District to dedicate itself in protecting the lives and property of our District citizens and visitors from the adverse effects of fire, sudden medical emergencies, or the exposure to dangerous conditions caused by man or nature. We will do this by providing with pride, honor and integrity, the greatest quality of professional service for the funds available through public education, fire prevention, emergency medical service, rescue service and fire suppression. We believe we exist to help people. We believe in respect for all of the people who need our service. We also believe in the responsible use of our resources and we believe that continuous improvement is accomplished one step at a time. Our vision is to be recognized by our community as a model of excellence in providing fire protection, emergency medical services and all other service. We want to be recognized as a fire department dedicated to continuous improvement in every detail of the services we provide. We also want to be recognized as a District responsive to the community’s needs.
